Request a New Recipe

Users must follow the appropriate recipe request/approval process to ensure that recipes are not duplicated and ensure recipes are accessible to multiple regions.

SFAs Recipe Request:

  1. New recipe request should be entered via Sales Force, following the Recipe Request instructions available on Virtual Manual

  2. Included in the "Details" of the recipe request should be a description of the recipe they wish to have created.

  3. Reason for request should be indicated under "Reason for Request". Additional recipe information can also be provided here (i.e. link to recipe from USDA website, etc.)

VPs

  1. The approving VP should review the recipe request and approve or deny it. If more information is needed for the VP for approve the recipe, they should contact the SFA requesting the recipe for more detail.

  2. Before approving recipes the VP should confirm that a similar recipe does not already exist.

  3. Once a recipe has been approved by the VP an e-mail should be sent out to the chef needed to create the recipe, from the approving VP. Included in the e-mail should be all the information provided by the SFA as well as the SFA contact in case more questions are needed.

  4. All approved recipes should have the "Nutrition Group" cc'd.

  5. If an approved recipe does NOT require the skills and knowledge of a chef (i.e. making a chicken patty sandwich), someone from the Nutrition Team can create the recipe in place of the chef. This however should only occur in limited situations.

Culinary Innovators

  1. Once a recipe is approved, BEFORE creating a new recipe, the Culinary Innovator should search and open recipes that they think may be similar to the request. If they feel a current recipe could be used to meet the requester's needs, they should e-mail the VP to consult.

  2. Once it has been determined that a new recipe is needed, the Culinary Innovator will create a recipe following the recipe creation SOP. Please note that special attention should be paid to ensure that all appropriate variants are populated on the new recipe.

  3. Once the Culinary Innovator has created the recipe, and completed all their mandatory field, the Nutrition Team should be e-mail to finalize the recipe.

Nutrition

  1. Once a recipe is passed from the Culinary Innovators to Nutrition, it should be checked for crediting, nutritional value and available attributes.

  2. Nutrition will tag the recipe with all appropriate attributes to allow for proper menuing.

  3. If changes are required to the ingredients to comply with nutritional regulation and/or to make the recipe more widely available, Nutrition will consult with the chefs.

  4. If no changes are needed to the recipe, Nutrition will e-mail Marketing to create a menu name for the recipe.

Marketing

  1. Based on the components and variants in the recipe, Marketing will create a menu name that fits.

  2. In addition to a menu name, Marketing will also add "additional names" to account for regional descriptions (i.e. hoagie for hero)

  3. Once the menu names have been associated Marketing will make the recipe active.
